NAHB Fall Prevention in Residential Construction - October 21, 8am - 12:30p

Workers falling from the structure, roof, ladder and scaffolding continue to be the leading cause of injuries and fatalities in the residential construction industry. This training program will help employees and employers identify and avoid fall hazards encountered during home building operations, the prevention of falls, solutions to protect against and arrest falls, and the rescue of a fallen worker. As a participant in this training, you will be able to:

  • Recognize common fall hazards in residential construction.
  • Identify when fall protection is required.
  • Determine which protection system to use for a given fall hazard.
  • Understand the key requirements and basic safety practices for each protection system.
  • Understand the safety requirements and practices for ladders and scaffolding.

NAHB education designation holders earn four hours of continuing education credit for successful completion of this training.

North Carolina Licensing Board for General Contractors Continuing Education

General Statute 87-10.2 states that North Carolina licensed general contractors will be required to complete 8-hours of continuing education (CE) beginning with 2021 license renewals.

Courses offered by HBADOC will be held virtually on the ZOOM platform on the following dates: June 25, August 6, October 2, October 20, November 6. Courses offered on November 24 will be in-person (if permitted), held at Triangle Brick Company in Durham.

You may take all 8-hours of CE in one day or take them separately. Click here for full details, a complete list of courses offered by HBADOC and to REGISTER for them. To register for the full 8-hour CE offering, click on the specific Date noted. To register for individual courses, click on each Course Description.

HBADOC Member Rates: $175 for 8-hours of CE, $87.50 for 4-hour CE, $43.75 for 2-hour CE.

Non-member Rates: $225 for 8-hour of CE, $112.50 for 4-hour CE, $56.25 for 2-hour CE.
